We’ve tried to put together the best TV streaming value guide and failed. But what if the best value was actually something free? Good news, for a few months now, Sling has offered free news, movies, and shows. Best of all, you don’t need to sign up for an account or provide a credit card.
Sling calls the service Sling Free, and while it doesn’t offer all the same channels and selection as a paid subscription, it’s still a decent sized set of options. The service isn’t new, but now’s a good time to look into it.
If your local school district closed and your children are at home right now, Sling Free gives you more options on things your children can watch. A quick browse through the Sling’s site revealed Justice League Action, Teen Titans Go, Bob the Builder, and more all available for free. Adults are covered too with movies, shows, and even ABC Live TV News.
Just a few of the free options.
You’ll see paid content that’s locked away too, of course, which will likely entice some viewers to sign up for the service. But what’s free and what isn’t is clearly marked, and you don’t need to sign up for an account or provide a credit card. That means you won’t need to worry about accidental charges.
You can access Sling Free from your browser by going to Sling’s site and browsing for free content. Alternatively, you can load Sling on your smart TV or Android device and browse the free content there. The company says iOS and tvOS Sling apps will be updated soon to offer the new service.
